Teddy Matailevu

Prior to joining FT Adjusting Pty Ltd in 2014, Teddy Matalievu commenced his career in Loss Adjusting in Fiji, where he worked for a period of 11 years. His experience in Fiji was mainly in the area of investigating Personal Injury, Public Liability, small to large fire, burglary, fidelity, marine and other insurance related claims.

In 2008, he moved to Australia and joined McLarens Young International as a Senior Loss Adjuster, which later merged with Freemans and traded as Cerno P/L.

Teddy has had extensive experience attending catastrophes throughout Australia and NZ, including Fiji. These include the 1999 Flood in Fiji, the 2006 civil unrest in Tonga, 2009 Black Saturday Melbourne Bush Fires, 2009 WA Storms, 2010 Christchurch Earthquake, 2010 Melbourne Storms, 2010/ 2011 QLD floods, 2012 Cyclone in Fiji, and the 2013 Bunderberg Floods. He has also worked in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.

His experience includes undertaking thorough investigations into various matters, providing advice on policy indemnity, liability and quantifying losses, communicating with various stake holders, negotiating settlement with third parties and insureds, agreeing scope of damage and reinstatement work and resolving matters.

Teddy is an associate member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters and a Senior Associate of the Australian Institute of Insurance and Finance.
